Acupressure Course at Saurashtra University 

17 Mar 09 was a red letter day for the Sansthan as it was on this day that Saurashtra University, Rajkot introduced an acupressure course with the help of the Sansthan, the first by any university in India. The introduction of the course was the outcome of initiative and personal effort on the part of Shri Kashi Kant Mishra, associate professor of the Sansthan. The course of six months duration and consisting of 360 classes was named ‘Diploma in Ayurvedic Acupressure’. The minimum qualification for attending the course was intermediate. The first batch of the course commenced on 17 Mar 09 with 25 students. The course was inaugurated by Dr. Kamlesh Joshi, vice chancellor Saurashtra University in the presence of pro vice chancellor. Prof. Kalpak Dwivedi. The entire syllabus for the course was prepared by the Sansthan and the responsibility of conducting teaching classes was entrusted to the Sansthan. The Sansthan accordingly constituted a training team led by Shri Kashi Kant Mishra for conducting the classes at the university. Shri Mishra was also nominated as the chief coordinator of the course by the Sansthan. 


Sixth 17 Days Advanced Level Residential Training, Allahabad: 3 - 19 Jul 09
 

The sixth advanced level 17 days residential training course was conducted by the Sansthan at Kunj Bihari Dharmshala, Allahabad from 3 to 19 Jul 09. There were 91 trainees from 16 states including two from Nepal and one from West Indies. Few local students were also enrolled. Out station students were accommodated at Kunj Bihari Dharmshala. The training was inaugurated by Shri Umadhar Dwivedi, commissioner Allahabad division on 3 Jul 09. Sansthan vice president (general), Shri Shyam Sundar Saraf was the chief coordinator. Classes were conducted by a team of lecturers from the Sansthan including Sansthan president Shri Mata Prasad Khemka and senior vice president Shri J.P. Agarwal. A cultural programme was presented by the students on the evening of 12 Jul 09. All trainees were taken on a sight sighing tour of local places on the same day.

IGNOU Courses at Chail Community College, Pritamnagar, Allahabad
 

Another important mile stone in Sansthan’s onward progress march during the year was the commencement of a series of acupressure courses by Indira Gandhi National Open University at Chail Community College, Pritamnagar, Allahabad with the help of the Sansthan. Three IGNOU approved courses commenced at the community colleges in the month of Jul 09 as follows: 

Certificate course of six months duration with an intake of 44 students. 

Diploma course of one year duration (two semesters) with an intake of 16 students. 

Associate degree course of two years duration (four semesters) with an intake of 16 students. 

The entire syllabus and teaching material for all the three courses was prepared by the Sansthan. A team of 24 lecturers was constituted by the Sansthan to impart training to the students. The responsibility for preparation of question papers for various examinations, the conduct of examinations and the correction of examination papers also devolved on the Sansthan. 


Sansthan Registration as NGO (Non Government Organization): 31 Jul 09
 

31 Jul 09 marked another landmark in the history of the Sansthan when on this day, the Sansthan training wing was registered with the Registrar of Societies, Uttar Pradesh as a NGO in the name of ‘Academy of Naturopathy (Acupressure)’ vide Registration No. 2197-2009 dated 31 Jul 09. 


Ayurvedic and Chinese Acupressure Advance Training at Allahabad: 15-19 Aug 09.
 

Ayurvedic and Chinese acupressure advance training was conducted by the Sansthan at Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon Mandapam hall, Allahabad from 15 to 19 Aug 09. The training was inaugurated by Air Vice Marshall G. S. Kochar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Central Air Command.  The book ‘A Treatise on Advanced Acupressure/Acupuncture Part XVII’ written by Sansthan president Shri Mata Prasad Khemka was released on this occasion. Classes were conducted by senior lecturers of the Sansthan including Sansthan president Shri Mata Prasad Khemka, senior vice president Shri J.P. Agarwal, Shri M.B. Tripathi and Shri A.K. Dwivedi. Shri M.K. Midha was the chief coordinator. The highlights of the training were the classes on the newly discovered Ayurvedic circulation meridians and the treatment of various emergency and infectious diseases as given out in Treatise XVII. 268 trainees attended. 


Eleventh National Acupressure Conference cum Super Advance Training at Allahabad: 20-26 Dec 09
 

Eleventh national acupressure conference cum super advance training was organized at Allahabad from 20 to 26 Dec 09 at Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon Mandapam hall. Justice Rajes Kumar of Allahabad High Court was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. The distinguished guests on the occasion included Shri J. N. Mishra, officer on special duty, ministry of health, government of India and Dr. S. B. Arora of the department of health, Indira Gandhi National Open University. A number of research papers were read out at the conference. Shri M. P. Khemka, Shri J.P. Agarwal, Shri M.B. Tripathi and Shri A.K. Dwivedi conducted the training classes. The main highlight of the training was treatment of a multitude of diseases through treatment of various nerves of the nervous system using the principles of Ayurvedic acupressure. Shri K. C. Goel was the chief coordinator of the event.

Basic Training at Allahabad during 2009

During the year, four basic training programmes in Chinese acupressure & three programmes in Ayurvedic acupressure were conducted by the Sansthan.  


Outstation Training Camps during 2009
 

During the year, training camps were organized by the Sansthan at Balaghat (MP), Bahraich, IAF HQ (Gandhinagar), Indore, Ahmedabad, Bagaha (West Champaran, Bihar), Vadodara, Haldwani, Navi Mumbai and Unnao.           


Free Treatment Camps during 2009
 

Free treatment camps were organized by the Sansthan during the year at New Delhi, Haldwani, ITI Mankapur (Gonda) and IAF HQ (Gandhinagar) in addition to the five treatment camps at the annual Magh Mela at Allahabad. Treatment cum awareness camps were organized at Rishikesh (Parmarth Niketan) and Nainital.
